Regarding your question, I will answer it as far as my experience, I am not a best Agarwood expert, we are all the same. Learning, you could ask other distiller to compare my answer, regarding this Agarwood oil, this Agarwood oil is “Mystery”

What I understand from your question is to make the Agarwood Muattaq or Aged Oud Oil

the way I know is only keep the Agarwood oil in its bottle, not to dry it and not to open the bottle, put the Agarwood oil under the sun light is only to dry the oil after distillation process, dry under the sunlight depending to water in the oil take about 3-5 days, but sometimes people use a high lamp temperature like 200 watt, and put the Agarwood oil under that lamp, to make the oil save from the dust.

Thickness actually came from the material, if high grade material the oil will be thicker, if the Agarwood oil material from middle grade the oil will be thin, thin Agarwood oil to be thick Agarwood oil take along time, 3 months it is too young to make aged agarwood oil.

Keep it in the bottle make the Agarwood oil better, do not open the bottle make the scent week its make a sense but I am not 100% agree, because what we have is the essential oil not Attar or Perfume.

There is no a big different will change if only keep the oil for 3 months, sometime people influence by his feeling, our brain is influence with situation that we made, just say, keep it in the dark place until 3 months, when we smell it we feel then the change is happening to that oil, situation change our sense of smell. The condition of the Agarwood Oil not change much.

Keep the oil old make the oil better, thick, and better scent? The answer is Yes, but not for 3-4 month, it has no different, as long as a I know if you keep for only 3 months.I think 1 years and more then 1 year to make the oil different, I have put the oil few months but it has no different.

We need to analyze, how can the oil could have a better smell and thick?

One expert from German said that in the Agarwood oil smell if came from bacteria in the Agarwood oil, when we distill Agarwood and heat it more then 100 Celsius  just said 200 Celsius the oil scent will be BURNT, why the oil scent is BURNT, because the bacteria of the Agarwood oil  is died, not all die but almost all, that is why the Agarwood oil scent is BURNT

when you distill Agarwood under the heat 100 Celsius you will find nice scent, because the bacteria is still life, longer you keep the bacteria life on the Agarwood oil make the bacterial more better just say its become more healthy after distillation process, make the bacteria DEVELOP and make the scent of the Agarwood oil better, nice color and thicker, the bacteria will be stronger and the scent will be better, but it is almost impossible if there is a family said that they feed their baby every day and the baby could walk in 4 months.

Agarwood collector (Agarwood businessman) in Kalimantan mostly comes from Lombok every 3 0r 4 months, they returned to Lombok pick some people that ready to search aloes to Kalimantan.

Eaglewood seeker be formed in groups, the number of seeker in one group is 20 people, 25 people, and sometime 30 people.

They are all financed and equipped by the Agarwood Busnissman, and the results will be sold to the collector that financed them.

Carrying a backpack, weight aprox 30kg, axes, knife, tents, cooking utensils and equipment for them when they are in journey in the forest.

Walking, entering the wild forests of Borneo, by betting their lives looking for Agarwood, one month they spend night and day in the jungle, is something that should be paid high for what they get.

Snakes, striped tiger, bear, always they meet, armed with their prayers facing the animals.

What about if they are sick in the forest? It’s the risk they say, Yes we will live in tents, or exit the from the forest to seek help on logging companies in the forest that brings the wood down to the city.

Travel into the forest, can 7 days to 10 days, arriving at the target area, then they build a tent, whether aloes found around the target are, no, no, it’s not finished, tent is build backpack is prepared for the next journey, they split up, 2 or 3 person walking around the jungle, look for signs of aloe tree that is ready to cut. How far did they walk? They walked again for 2 or 3 days, takes about 70 to 100 km.

They walked for so far, if they find a sign of aloe tree, then they will settle there, start working with their axes and knifes, cutting trees and looking for the aloes wood (double super).

If they are already getting enough results, then they will return to the main tent, where they wait for friends – other friends who are still searching for Agarwood into the forest.

Imagine, happened several months ago, the adventurers were getting aloes double super in one tree for 4 kg, WAW windfall

Back into their stories in the jungle, after they all gather at the main tent, they all share stories, ops, there is forgotten, there are some Agarwood seeker that not return yet, there are some member lost in the jungle, imagine 100km walk, in the wilderness, new areas not yet known before, well, the group will look for those who have not returned, with signs that they had agreed before.

Why this Agarwood is steam?

This Agarwood steamed to get the color to be black or dark brown, because this Agarwood is the material of Agarwood incense, Indonesian exporter export this Agarwood to Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and other countries.

First this Agarwood came from jungle, this Agarwood is low grade, the color is white to yellow and light yellow, that is why they have almost no oil inside, and some times little. After it’s brought from jungle and the Agarwood is dried for 3-5 days, the Agarwood is cleaned and the shape is made by our Agarwood man = Agarwooder.

After the shape is made, the Agarwood is ready to steam, in high temperature, steam, dry, steam, and dry, some time you could steam this Agarwood until 3 times.

How is the scent?

This product has no scent, because the buyer only needs its color, shape and the Agarwood material, the buyer put their own sauce or essence to this product.
